Forestry Suppliers Spherical Crown Densiometer, Convex Model A

Convex Model A

Helpful when establishing spacing standards in forest thinning and determining light requirements for regeneration. Both models feature a mirror reflector engraved with a cross-shaped grid of 24 quarter-inch squares to delineate a plot overhead. Slightly offset convex model when using so your head does not appear in grid. Hardwood instrument case is 3” x 3”. Built-in leveling bubble. Operating instructions included.

Well constructed and very convenient design/size for my cruiser vest. I recommend the Type A Convex model as it minimizes self-reflection.

Is their a difference in the results between these two models in similar stands? Is their a difference in the results between these two models in similar stands?
The results should not be different in similar stands. The biggest difference is the convex is easier to read because there less chance of your head interfering with the reading.
